Eagle Awards 2012 Nominations Open

If you in any way follow a small press or independent UK based comic book creator through some kind of social media you will no doubt know that the nominations for the Eagle Awards are open. For everyone else The Eagle Awards are the comic industry’s longest established awards, acknowledged as the pre-eminent international accolades. The Eagles have been featured on the covers of leading US and UK titles across the last 30 years, unique in that they reflect the people’s choice and comprise of two distinct stages. The Eagle Comic Awards ceremony has found its home at MCM Expo London Comic Con and takes place at Excel in London each May.

So with the nominations I have a request; be sensible. Every year the nominations are filled with nonsense, like creators put in the wrong categories and multiple spellings of the same people etc. It’s good of the Eagle Awards to open the nominations round up to anyone who reads comics, the least we can do is make going through the process a little easier on them. That being said if someone would like to nominate this very site, that’d make me very happy and validate the hard work the Sidekicks have been doing on improving the look and content found here. I refuse to nominate the site myself as I think that’s just not in the spirit of things, I am however not proud enough to not beg.
