Joss Whedon WILL Write and Direct Avengers 2 & TV Show
Marvel Studios have announced that they have secured Joss Whedon to not only write and direct the Avengers sequel but also to develop an ‘Avengers themed TV show’ with Disney TV partners, ABC. Of course, this is fantastic news for Avengers fans, and by that I mean everybody, but was it ever really in doubt that Marvel would let Joss go? They’d have to be complete idiots if they didn’t secure the talented Mr Whedon so what I’m more interested in is the ‘Avengers-themed TV show’.
Whedon is certainly no slouch when it comes to developing, strong, action-packed, ensemble, character driven TV shows with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse under his belt we know this particular show is in good hands. What form this TV show would take has yet to be announced but the obvious rumour is that it will be a SHIELD-themed procedural, I wouldn’t put it past Joss to come up with something a little more left field than what we may come to expect from such a show…here’s hoping eh?
