DC/WB Start Developing Others like Aquaman, Shazam and more

Off of the news that Warner Bros and DC Entertainment had got scribe Will Beall to start work on reviving Justice League I read over in VARIETY that Warner Bros plan to put more of DC Comics’ superheroes on the big screen and that plans are coming together nicely nearly three years after Warner Bros took back control of characters.

From Variety

“Those projects now join in development films based on the Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Lobo, the Suicide Squad and Shazam. DC and WB are also facing a decision on how to reboot Batman once “The Dark Knight Rises” completes Christopher Nolan’s take on the caped crusader, featuring Christian Bale in the cowl.

Studio is figuring out whether to bring back Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern in a sequel to last year’s action movie or relaunch the character in a completely new way. Goldenberg (“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”) was brought on board in 2010 to write the screenplay for the sequel, a year before the first film bowed.”

Personally I think this is brilliant news and personally can’t wait for some movies other than the usual Batman and Superman even if I am proper really excited for Batman this summer and Superman next year.

I think they should push ahead with The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern 2 (but make it better) to build for Justice League, from the Justice League movie you could THEN start the new Batman franchise. I really hope they don’t make a Wonder Woman movie as I don’t think it will work.

Also I would like to see some movies from The Edge and The Dark lines, word of Suicide Squad is brilliant but start a project into Deathstroke too if you ask me and for The Dark titles Animal Man would be epic.

One thing I do know is with DC the new 52/Batman trilogy along with Marvel and the Avengers phase 1 (Ironman, Cap etc), the summer of Valiant and top class stuff from Image (walking dead, saga) it is a good time to be a comic book and superhero fan and it only looks like it will get better.

Thank you again variety.
