This is it! Its finally here..the battle we’ve all been waiting for! Well most of us. The set up for this comic looks like its going to firstly involve the Scarlett Witch who’s reality-altering power made mutants an endangered species with just three words, and secondly Hope Summers who’s destined to save the entire mutant race or destroy the world (two very different extremes).
The comic kicks off with the Scarlett Witch battling M.O.D.O.K (Mobile Organism Designed Only for Killing) who is trying to assinate a former A.I.M (Advanced Idea Mechanics) agent. Scarlett Witch seems to be losing the battle as she seems preoccupied with others things, at this point Ms Marvel and Spiderwomen arrive and help her out in the nick of time. After a awkward hello to each other Ms Marvel persuades a resistant Witch to come to the Avengers Mansion to say hello, lets just say this is a bad idea..because as soon as the Vision sees her he gets pissed! Which to be honest is really cool to see, this ends with both the Scarlett Witch and The Vision in tears.
Then arrives what we’ve all been seeing in every marvel comic for the last month, the bit where Cyclops tries to speak to Hope. He’s trying to convince her to stay in Utopia as he feels she is a big target for everyone out there. She definitely disagrees as she shoots Cyclops with his own eye-blasts and jetpacks off leaving him to pick himself up.
Hope then arrives at a bank robbery in progress where the Serpent Society are almost into the the Vault..time for Hope to vent some anger me thinks. She basically kicks all of their asses with such ease, although she seems to be getting carried away! Luckily Cyclops and Emma Frost turn up to stop from beating them to death. This results in another heated arguement with Hope ending up saying “The Phoenix is coming. I know that. I’m not afraid. I Want it to Come. I’m ready”.
And so ends part one of the AvX saga, where will they go from here..only time will tell. Something tells me that not only Hope will be effected by the Phoenix force. The comic was a good read but very short as six pages of it had already been released prior to this issue, but that being said I felt like it set up the next issue nicely and as long as it keeps on doing that ill continue to pick it up. I would also suggest picking up Avengers #24.1 this week as it links in nicely to the Vision story. 3/5

I’ve got to say, I’ve been really enjoying this run on the Dark Knight! The Art work has been stunning and the character mix has been great, with the likes of Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Bane and lots more, its a must read..so pick it up! With that in Mind here’s what’s been going on, Batman has been taking on his greatest foes during a breakout at Arkham Asylum. But when his enemies gain powers and abilities far beyond their normal capacities, the Caped Crusader’s crusade may finally be at an end! Throughout this story he fights pretty much all of his villains, but always seems to hit a dead end when finding out about where the villains are getting their powers from. The story ends with a great battle between him and Bane which is brilliant, the art and writing show perfectly the relationship between Batman and Bane..but who will win? Is there another broken back waiting for the Batman or will he overcome his fear at the right time..tune in next time..same bat time..same bat channel.
Apologies I got carried away, but seriously pick up this comic it’s worth it and you’ll get to find out who wins, because I’m not going to tell you! 5/5
Joke answer: None. They like the dark….so funny…well a little bit. See you next week!!!

Well I read, AvX part Zero and found it a bit dull to be honest, We had seen most of both stories in the numerous previews being shoved into both Avengers and X-men comics as well as online. The art work in the first story is superb and the story ends well, but the Hope story, felt like almost every encounter Scott and Emma have had with her following the “death” of Cable.
Lets hope that part one actually does something, although after readng this book, I am interested to see how Wanda will be used in AvX, my guess is she is the hero of the entire event!!
